L.J. LaBree was born on the coldest February day of 1991 in Waterville, Maine, though she strongly believes this attributes to her fiery passion for life. She is the only biological child of Theodore and Claudia LaBree, who in their daughter’s adult life, unofficially adopted two young men and two young women into the rag-tag family.
Growing up in the quiet town of Vassalboro, L.J. learned to occupy her thirsty imagination with books, movies, art, and the wilds of nature. While she hated growing up a minimum of 20 minutes from a city in either direction, she has come to appreciate this blessing in disguise. This solitude is what she believes helped nurture her wild imagination into the strong asset it is today.
L.J. attended Hartwick College of Liberal Arts, pursuing a dream of a career in writing. While she studied the immortal creative styles of Chaucer, Homer, Mary Wollstonecraft Shelly and many other greats, L.J. also studied the more structured style of journalism. After she graduated from Hartwick with a Bachelor’s Degree in English, and attended the acclaimed New England School of Communication, more affectionately known as NESCom. She graduated from NESCom with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications and took a job as an Associate Producer with local news center WABI TV5. It was after she was promoted to Morning Producer L.J. had decided to pursue a lifelong dream of being a writer.
L.J. currently works as an Administrative Assistant with MIT in Massachusetts while she puts the finishing touches on her novels.
She can usually be found either locked in her room writing, watching her favorite shows, tending to her social media accounts, or out in the woods healing her soul.
This page will be updated as her career advances.
